Peach Coffee Cake

I worked at a bed and breakfast when I moved to my town several years ago and a coffee cake was served there made with fresh peaches. It is rich and delightful.


½ cup butter

1-1/2 cups packed brown sugar

1 egg

2 cups flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 cup buttermilk

4 peaches peeled and diced

1 tsp. cinnamon

Cinnamon sugar mix for topping

Cream butter with brown sugar; add slightly beaten egg. Add flour and baking soda alternately with buttermilk, beating smooth after each addition. Gently blend in peaches. Pour batter into 9 x 13 dish, sprinkle with sugar mix. Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes.
