Homemade Apple Pie



Crust:

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
6 tablespoons butter
6 tablespoons shortening
6 to 8 tablespoons ice water

This pie crust makes enough for two double-crust pies.


Pie Filling:

5 or 6 tart peeled apples, cut up
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon Cider Vinegar
1 tablespoon lemon juice

Bake pie at 400 degrees for 50 minutes. (I baked my second pie at 350 and it baked better.) Good idea, too, to place aluminum foil around the edges so that pie will not burn.
